Hashtags are scattering around. We assign different meanings to ourselves and others, clustering individuals together based on our unique perspectives and experiences.
These hashtags are more than words, they could frame us and shape the world around us.
Sentient Mirror by XCEPT, an immersive installation featured in the Pink Canvas Exhibition Concert by Hong Kong renowned singer-songwriter Ivana Wong. On view from 18th to 21st May 2023 at Freespace, the journey invites audiences to experience the weight of being labeled, utilizing AI technology.
The experience takes audiences on a voyage of self-discovery, a journey that brings together the hashtags generated by the collective and offers a glimpse into an “AI-generated self” with labels in the mirror.
Installation features visual themes drawn from Greek and Eastern mythology, science fiction, and superhero movies.
By engaging in a dialogue with the AI-generated identity, audiences are invited to embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the nuances of their own consciousness and ways of looking at the world.
